Have a great weekend!

Have a great weekend!
Today is Inspire Me Thursday at The Shaker Box! I found an article in a magazine with these funky swatches
...and they inspired me to make this card!
See what these swatches can inspire you to do with your scrapping today!! We'd love to see what you do, so be sure to add your project to our Members Gallery
For full credits, please click here: WAITING
There are so many things we do each and every day to mark the passage of time . . . including our own craft of scrapbooking. I look forward to seeing what each of you does with your time! Remember to post your layouts in the SHAKIN' CHALLENGES GALLERY.
Our prompt for this week is: I AM.
Create a card that makes a statement about you. "I am woman, hear me roar!" "I am invincible!" "I am sad." "I am worth more." These are just some examples. What can you say you are?
You can view Emily Falconbridge's card here: EMILY'S WEEK THREE CARD
Please upload your cards to the Shakin' Challenges/Deck of Me gallery here:

These are my cards for this week:

Looking out the window, I dread going outside - it's snowing and freezing - I can only hang onto the fact that spring is coming - (not soon enough)!
Now that I'm a mom I'm not much up on fashion (my body doesn't look so cute in much of it and I don't often buy stuff for me). Inspired by an ad I received in my inbox from Piperlime. They showed a rainbow of shoes. It made me think about my shoes in high school. I had a red pair, a green pair and a purple pair of flats. Don't you often wish you had taken pictures of some of the things you had when you were growing up? Reminisce about those things (if you still have some of them - pull them out and show us) or take pictures of some of your kid's favorite things right now.
Post your layout in The Shaker Box gallery and you just might win our Layout of the Week contest!
Right now I am all about the glitter. I love it on cards and on layouts. The more bling the better!
Have you ever thought of using those crazy dryer sheets in your craft projects?
There have been so many amazing layouts and cards this weekend with the President's Day weekend crop.. I'd like to show off just a few more layouts. I was blown away by the creativity and talent shown!
Firstly this explosion card by alli_scraps.. (Done for the Explosion Card tutorial challenge)
Isn't it gorgeous?
Now this fantastic and so special 2 page layout from NancyP (done for the Stamp of Approval challenge)

And this one by Sneezy1956 which I thought was just so sweet! (Done for the Honest Abe Journaling challenge).
Come on over to the gallery, have a look around at all the gorgeous layouts and leave some love!
This is our second week of the Deck of Me Challenge. Please feel free to join in at any time. You can always go back and complete the cards for the weeks you've missed.
Our prompt for this week is to create a card that showcases what is powerful to you. Emily Falconbridge talks about some of her feelings HERE and you can see the front of her card.
This is my second card for the challenge.

You can view credits for my card HERE.
Please upload your cards to the Shakin' Challenges/Deck of Me gallery HERE. Last week's cards were so awesome, and I'm really excited to see what creations this week will bring!
We've all got too much ribbon, right?? Why not use it to make pretty ribbon flowers like I have here. Visit the challenges section of our forum for more fun challenges and post your project in the gallery for us all to admire! Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day to you all!
What better way to prepare for the upcoming DAY OF LOVE, Valentine's Day, than creating a layout, card, or altered art object featuring wings. Think fat little cherubs, wispy butterflies, the outstretched wings of a bird. Of course, a little red and pink and maybe a few hearts to accompany those wings wouldn't hurt! Use brushes, elements, or papers . . . just use your imagination and take flight!
The layout I chose to do is focusing yet again on my never-ending journey towards self-acceptance. It's all about love. Realizing I am something, even if I'm not everything.
You can view full credits for the layout HERE and while you are in the gallery, check out the other Shakin' Challenge layouts as well.
Looking forward to seeing how each of you soars.
Good Tuesday to you!! Hope this week has started off great for you and you're all ready to give and get some love on Thursday! With all the wonderful things being added to the gallery EVERY day, I thought I would take a minute out to focus on one.
I love this layout by Tone K. (click here to go to her gallery) because I just LOVE IT, love the colors and the design. Keep watching the shaker home page as we start having featured layouts, you never know when yours will be featured. In the meantime check out Tone's gallery and leave some love.

The Paper Shakers are so excited to get to play with the new Daisy D's Valentine Card Making Kit...as well as some of their other Valentine Kits (photos to come later!). These little Valentine's are so fun and easy to put together! On both card, I took the base card and die cut and altered it a little by adding fiber, stamps and ink!
Today starts our deck of me challenge (see Wednesday's preview post). We'll be going for 52 weeks to create our mini art journal just about us, but don't be intimidated! Our canvas is only a 2 1/2" by 3 1/2" playing card, so it doesn't take much time at all. Each week, I'll give you a new word or phrase to inspire you.
This week's prompt is to write about something you are proud of . . .
Here are my cards (front and back):

Use up all your goodies in your stash - i'm sure we all have some kind of Hearts laying around the scraproom and if not we have stamps or punches - so head over and join me. I'm going to do my layout tonight and post it later.
Don't forget about the Crop coming up next weekend. We had so much fun at the last one - lots of gabby women and your glue and paper (or computer for you digi gals) - so mark your calendars!
Have you seen this month's digital creative team sponsor? It's Danielle Engebretson of Purple Paper Flowers and Digital Freebies! She has some amazing kits and our creative team is just getting started!

Be sure to check out the other great layouts made so far in the gallery!
In honor of Valentine's Day, today's Inspire Me Challenge is to make a heart shape on a card or layout with something else. I used flowers, like the ad that inspired me...but the possibilities are endless!
See The Shaker Box Inspire Me Challenge forum for the challenge! And, I hope that special someone enjoys your creation.
Starting this Saturday, February 9, 2008, we will be starting a year long journey by creating an art journal on a deck of playing cards.
Emily Falconbridge hosted a 52 week challenge on her blog . . . and we'll be following her challenge prompts for our journey as well.
You will need a deck of playing cards . . . there are jumbo playing cards that will give you a little more room if you think you need it, but the regular size playing cards are typically 2 1/2" x 3 1/2".
A digi scrapper can simply create their LO in the 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" format and print it out to be adhered to the card . . . a paper scrapper can go all out . . . or go for a mix of the two and create a hybrid wonder!
Visit on Saturday to get the first challenge prompt. Looking forward to getting to know each of you a little better as we create mini versions of ourselves!
It's Wednesday again already! That means it's time for another Do-it Digi Challenge at The Shaker Box.
This week create a layout for someone special. For the journaling, tell them what it is you love about them. You must journal in your own handwriting. If you haven't already had your handwriting made into a font, I highly recommend it, but you can also write out your journaling and scan it.
Here are a couple of examples from the gallery today:

This Monday's Card Challenge is to finish up any last minute Valentine's you still have left to make. Then they can be mailed in time for the holiday. Please post your creations in our gallery when you are done. We would love to see what you have created.
Happy Sunday to everyone. I'm so glad February is here!! One step closer to warmer weather, yay! This is my first time posting on The Shaker Box blog and I am so excited. Today, I'm giving you some scrappy inspiration with a new template!
You can use the template exactly as it is or change it up and make it "yours." If you like to "Do It Digi" check in the forum for a link to download a layered psd file (and if you're not digi, but are slightly curious about digi, keep watching the forum because we're gonna start posting how to's and tutorials for those who have never done anything digital, it's gonna be GREAT!) Whatever you decide to do, post your layout in The Shaker Box gallery and then leave us a link the the Template section of the Challenges forum so we can see your creativity and leave ya some lovin'!! While your in the gallery be sure to check out everyone else's latest creations and leave them some love too!
Have a restful and scrappy Sunday and and enjoy your Superbowl!!
Jenn
